Il santuario di Mariazell è il santuario più importante dell'Austria ed uno dei più importanti d'Europa. È costituito da una basilica dedicata alla Natività della Beata Vergine Maria e contiene una scultura lignea della Madonna, oggetto di venerazione fin dal XII secolo. La chiesa ha, dal novembre del 1907, la dignità di basilica minore.
