La chiesa parrocchiale cattolica romana di Filzmoos è dedicata ai santi Pietro e Paolo, la festa del patrono si celebra il 29 giugno. Appartiene al decanato di Altenmarkt dell'arcidiocesi di Salisburgo ed è una importante chiesa di pellegrinaggio locale, dove si venera il Filzmooser Kindl.
Una chiesa viene menzionata nel 1453, nel 1507 il sacerdote era già chiamato "sacerdote della chiesa della grazia". L'attuale costruzione gotica fu realizzata come chiesa filiale del decanato di Altenmarkt e consacrata il 19 ottobre 1479, il campanile occidentale fu completato nel 1546. Il pellegrinaggio al Filzmooser Kindl cadde in disuso a causa del protestantesimo e tornò alla ribalta solo a partire dal 1700.
