De rooms-katholieke parochiekerk van Filzmoos is gewijd aan de heiligen Peter en Paulus, het patronaatsfeest wordt op 29 juni gevierd. Ze behoort tot het dekenaat Altenmarkt van het aartsbisdom Salzburg en is een belangrijke lokale pelgrimskerk, waar het Filzmooser Kindl wordt vereerd.
Een kerk wordt voor het eerst genoemd in 1453, in 1507 heette de priester al “priester van de Genadekerk”. Het bestaande gotische gebouw werd als filialekerk van het dekenaat Altenmarkt gebouwd en werd op 19 oktober 1479 geconsacreerd, de westtoren werd in 1546 voltooid. De pelgrimage naar het Filzmooser Kindl raakte door het protestantisme in verval en werd pas vanaf 1700 weer bekender.
