Il castello di Krippach si trova nel comune di Absam vicino a Hall in Tirolo, nel distretto di Innsbruck Land in Tirolo.
Attorno al 995 dopo Cristo, Abzanes viene menzionato per la prima volta nei libri di tradizione della diocesi di Brixen. A quel tempo, la prelatura di Augusta possedeva la maggior parte delle proprietà terriere in questa zona. La proprietà terriera di Augusta nel Tirolo settentrionale era gestita dalla Oberstmajerhof, l'attuale castello di Kippach. Nel 1711, il castello assunse la sua attuale forma barocca. Durante i lavori di costruzione alla fine del XX secolo, sono stati scoperti anche materiali edilizi del XIII secolo.
