Emozioni in vetta a non finire, non soltanto quando si scalano le cime, ma anche soltanto costeggiandole lungo l'alta via Venediger Höhenweg. Dopo il rifugio Eisseehütte nella Timmeltal il sentiero mantiene più o meno la stessa quota e costeggia, tra l'altro, l'Hoher Eichham, una delle vette più colossali dell'Osttirol. Ma le altre cime circostanti non sono meno affascinanti: Großer e Kleiner Hexenkopf, Säulkopf e Rauhkopf. La straordinaria natura e i magnifici panorami arricchiscono questo tour già particolarmente ricco. Passando sotto la parete Wunwand e poi risalendo ripidamente tra la malga Wunalm e la cima Wunspitze, si raggiunge la dorsale Eselrücken. Ora la meta della nostra tappa, l'accogliente rifugio Bonn-Matreier-Hütte, è soltanto a due passi.
