Gipfelerlebnisse noch und noch, selbst wenn man die Gipfel nicht erklimmt, sondern auf dem Venediger Höhenweg daran vorbeiwandert. Nach der Eisseehütte im Timmeltal verläuft der Weg ziemlich auf gleicher Höhe bleibend und passiert u.a. eine markante Osttiroler Bergmajestät, den Hohen Eichham. Auch von reizvollen Gebirgsköpfen ist man umgeben, zum Beispiel: Großer und Kleiner Hexenkopf, Säulkopf und Rauhkopf. Die schöne Natur mit ihrem wunderbaren Panorama sorgt dafür, dass die Tour dennoch nicht kopflastig wird. Unterhalb der Wunwand vorbei und zwischen Wunalm und Wunspitze steil hinauf zum Eselrücken. Jetzt ist das Etappenziel, die gemütliche Bonn-Matreier-Hütte, schon ganz nahe.
