Amaras è un monastero armeno della repubblica del Nagorno Karabakh, situato nella regione di Martuni, corrispondente al cantone medioevale di Mius Haband ed alla tardo medioevale contea di Varanda.
Amaras è considerato uno dei più antichi siti cristiani. Infatti, secondo Fausto di Bisanzio storiografo armeno del V secolo, San Gregorio l'Illuminatore fondò all'inizio del IV secolo una chiesa che sarebbe diventata il Monastero di Amaras.
