Poppel è un villaggio/comune della municipalità di Ravels. Ha 3750 abitanti (fine 2005) e il villaggio confina con i Paesi Bassi. Gran parte della popolazione di Poppel è composta da immigrati provenienti dai Paesi Bassi.
C'è una chiesa con un campanile risalente al XVI secolo. Poppel in passato era un comune autonomo, che è stato unito al comune di Ravels. A questa autonomia ricorda ancora il monumentale ex municipio del 1908.
Fanno parte del comune ex anche il vicinato di Nieuwkerk, che si trova nei boschi al confine con i Paesi Bassi e che deve la sua esistenza a una chiesa di confine costruita lì nel 1652 per il beneficio della parrocchia di Goirle.
