Poppel es una aldea/municipio del municipio de Ravels. Tiene 3750 habitantes (finales de 2005) y el pueblo limita con los Países Bajos. Gran parte de la población de Poppel está formada por inmigrantes de los Países Bajos.
Hay una iglesia con una torre del siglo XVI. Poppel fue anteriormente un municipio independiente que se ha incorporado al municipio de Ravels. Esta independencia se recuerda aún en el monumental antiguo ayuntamiento de 1908.
Al antiguo municipio también pertenecía la aldea Nieuwkerk, que se ubica en los bosques en la frontera con los Países Bajos y que debe su existencia a una iglesia fronteriza que se construyó allí en 1652 en beneficio de la parroquia de Goirle.
