Il 1 agosto 1886, il bagno Van Eyck apre le porte come prima "piscina" coperta delle Fiandre. Per il popoloso quartiere operaio, il bagno unico rappresenta un enorme vantaggio. La fabbrica di tessuti Lousbergs poco più in là fornisce acqua calda. Ci sono anche vasche per utenti singoli; fino ad oggi puoi fare un bagno qui. Nel 1932, gli interni ottengono una splendida estetica art déco. A partire dal 1995, il bagno è considerato un monumento protetto. Nella sua ristrutturazione si sceglie la conservazione e il ripristino delle facciate originali del XIX secolo e degli interni degli anni '30. La facciata presenta ancora le scritte originali Bains e Badhuis. Sul retro c'è un nuovo edificio d'ingresso. Attraverso i oblò nel corridoio della piscina puoi dare un'occhiata agli interni.
