Una recente ricerca condotta da Arthur De Decker e Johan Van Twembeke ha rivelato che Maurice Maeterlinck non soggiornava nel castello di Rijvissche, ma nel Predikherenhof, situato un po' più lontano. Nelle sue memorie 'Bulles Bleues. Souvenirs heureux' (1948), Maeterlinck si riferiva a una villa a Zwijnaarde, che un tempo apparteneva ai Domenicani e che, durante la sua infanzia, era di proprietà di sua nonna materna. Questo è stato frequentemente identificato erroneamente in letteratura come il castello di Rijvissche.
