Additional information
Recent research by Arthur De Decker and Johan Van Twembeke revealed that Maurice Maeterlinck did not stay in the Rijvisschekasteel, but rather in the somewhat further located Predikherenhof. In his memoirs 'Bulles Bleues. Souvenirs heureux' (1948), Maeterlinck referred to a country house in Zwijnaarde that once belonged to the Dominicans and was in the possession of his maternal grandmother during his childhood years. This has been frequently misidentified in the literature as the Rijvisschekasteel.
