Oombergen è un villaggio nella provincia belga delle Fiandre Orientali e una frazione della città di Zottegem. Il villaggio si trova nelle Fiandre Ardenne. In passato si trovava il Castello di Oombergen. Il nome Oombergen deriva dal germanico hunu berga, tradotto liberamente come "monte color miele". La signoria di Oombergen apparteneva inizialmente alla famiglia di Oyenberghe. Intorno al 1530, la signoria fu acquistata da Jan Damman di Gand. Il suo discendente Kasper Damman fu nominato il 17 gennaio 1645 da Filippo IV di Spagna burgravio di Oombergen. Marc-Antoine de Preud'homme d'Hailly, che si definiva burgravio di Nieuwpoort, sposò in seconde nozze Anne Damman, burgravina di Oombergen. La famiglia De Preud'homme d'Hailly de Nieuport rimase in Belgio fino al periodo francese e il figlio Albert) mantenne il possesso di Oombergen.
