Mortier è una frazione del comune belga di Blegny. Mortier si trova nella provincia vallona di Liegi ed è stata un comune autonomo fino al 1 gennaio 1977. La signoria di Mortier era anticamente un possedimento carolingio. Nel X secolo passò al Capitolo di Nostra Signora di Aquisgrana, che nominò il tutore, in effetti il signore. Questo rimase così fino alla Rivoluzione di Liegi alla fine del XVIII secolo. Mortier divenne parte della Contea di Dalhem. Il primo tutore noto fu Renier Coye, che svolse questa funzione all'inizio del XIV secolo. Nel 1557 Mortier passò al Re di Spagna e nel 1686 questi vendette nuovamente la tutela.
