Hamont è una città belga che appartiene al comune di Hamont-Achel nel nord della provincia di Limburgo. Fino al 1977 era un comune autonomo, dopodiché si è fuso con il comune vicino di Achel per formare un nuovo comune.
Nel 1257 Hamont venne menzionata per la prima volta. Il nome potrebbe derivare da Haag-Mont, che significa pendio boschivo recintato, oppure da Hameide, che significa luogo recintato.
