Secondo una leggenda, una statuetta di legno sarebbe stata trovata in un tronco della fattoria 't Hof a Veylst. Questa rappresentava la madre di Mara: Santa Anna. Portava sulla sua arm Maria, che a sua volta portava Gesù. La statuetta fu inizialmente collocata in alcune piccole cappelle di legno, ma infine nel 1639 fu costruita una cappella in pietra. Questo sarebbe legato all'epidemia di peste dalla quale molte persone nella regione furono risparmiate. (e attribuito a questa statuetta). Sapevi che dal 1631 ogni martedì sera viene celebrata la messa della cappella.
