Il Castello d'Aertrycke fu costruito dal 1868 al 1871 in stile neogotico su incarico di August de Maere. Il castello è situato in un giardino romantico con un grande stagno, prati e boschi. Una parte di questo dominio è un dominio provinciale del West-Vlaanderen ed è accessibile al pubblico. Oggi il castello è un hotel/ristorante di lusso e un centro congressi (ristorante realizzato nel 1990 e hotel costruito nel 1996 dagli allora organizzatori del festival Rock Torhout).
