Bouwel è un villaggio nella provincia belga di Anversa e una frazione di Grobbendonk. Bouwel era un comune indipendente fino alla riorganizzazione comunale del 1977. Nel 1771 furono trovate monete romane nei dintorni di Bouwel. Per secoli, Bouwel dipese da Grobbendonk, sebbene fosse isolata da questo dal piccolo fiume Nete e dalle paludi. Nel 1487 divenne comunque un feudo indipendente con Huybrecht Brant, il quale fece costruire un castello. Nel corso dei secoli, Bouwel divenne proprietà di una serie di famiglie.
