Wiesme [vjɛm] è un villaggio situato a 5 chilometri a nord della città di Beauraing, alla quale è amministrativamente collegato. Era un comune a sé stante prima della fusione dei comuni del 1977. La denominazione originale deve essere stata Véma, poi Vesma, Vieme nel XV secolo, Viesme. Questo termine deriverebbe dal tema Vim, Vem a cui si attribuisce il significato latino Vimen salice, salice. A partire dal 1707, Wiesme farà parte delle quattro municipalità indipendenti di Beauraing.
