Attraverso questa foresta passa un'importante condotta d'acqua. Lungo quella condotta, nell'ambito del progetto di gestione naturale Biscopveld, è stato tagliato un tratto per il ripristino della brughiera e dei prati. Per la diffusione di molte piante e animali è importante che le Eendenputten siano collegate ad altre aree di brughiera tramite corridoi e "pietre miliari", come il piccolo campo di brughiera nel dominio provinciale lungo il Bornebeek e la riserva naturale delle Gulke Putten. Tutti gli abbattimenti sono stati compensati da rimboschimenti in un'altra località dei Vagevuurbossen. Inoltre, viene realizzata anche un'ulteriore espansione forestale oltre alle compensazioni forestali, poiché l'espansione della foresta è anche un obiettivo importante in quest'area.
