L'ospedale di Herentals, fondato prima del 1253, è senza dubbio il più antico dei Campi. Da 'ostello' è evoluto gradualmente in 'ospedale'. Faceva parte di un convento di suore agostiniane.
Vede quattro edifici la cui architettura è di importanza storica. Il portale d'ingresso e il vecchio convento risalgono al XVII secolo. Presti particolare attenzione alla cappella del XVI secolo, con finestre gotiche, un piccolo campanile a guglia e un portale d'ingresso basso. Viene ancora utilizzata per matrimoni e cerimonie funebri.
Nel vecchio convento ora trovano alloggio diversi servizi dell'OCMW di Herentals. Nella fienile dell'ospedale troverà le parti più antiche del dominio. Nella struttura della fienile ci sono travi risalenti all'inizio del XIV secolo.
Il Vecchio Ospedale forma un insieme notevole con l'ospedale in mattoni rossi dell'interbellum, l'ospedale della seconda metà del XX secolo e un'ala nuovissima del XXI secolo.
