La chiesa di San Pietro e San Paolo, o anche chiesa di San Pietro, era la chiesa parrocchiale di Neder-Heembeek. La chiesa fu ricostruita nel 1860, ma il 21 agosto 1932 fu colpita da un fulmine, causando un grande incendio. Non fu possibile riutilizzarla fino alla fine di dicembre. Nel 1935, la chiesa di San Pietro e la chiesa di San Nicola a Over-Heembeek furono sostituite dalla nuova chiesa di San Pietro e Paolo. Questa fu costruita al confine tra Neder-Heembeek e Over-Heembeek, che erano già state unite nel 1813 per formare Neder-Over-Heembeek. Le parrocchie seguirono nel 1814.
