Nel 2020, la tenuta del castello ha intrapreso una nuova vita quando l'allora ministro fiammingo del Turismo Zuhal Demir (N-VA) ha assegnato un contributo di 217.000 euro a questa iniziativa. I fondi dovevano essere utilizzati per l'acquisto della tenuta del castello d’Ursel e delle foreste circostanti. Dovrebbe diventare un po' la porta verso l'ambiente verde.
Già nel 2015, la famiglia d’Ursel, l'amministrazione locale di Grobbendonk e la Fondazione Paesaggio Kempens hanno firmato un contratto di affitto per la tenuta e circa 14 ettari di terreno circostante. Il contratto di affitto aveva una durata di 36 anni, con la possibilità di acquistare l'intero complesso ogni 9 anni. Una soluzione elegante quindi per gli affittuari, che hanno guadagnato tempo per riflettere sul futuro della tenuta e decidere se proseguire o meno.
