Qui è stato archeologicamente dimostrato che c'era una vera miniera d'oro: il cosiddetto Trou des Massotais. Questa ex miniera d'oro si trova a poche centinaia di metri dal incrocio Baraque Fraiture sull'E25. Alla fine degli anni '90, il laghetto è stato pompatato e i ricercatori, in collaborazione con l'Université de Liège, sono riusciti a mettere a nudo un'antica galleria mineraria. La struttura di supporto in legno è stata esaminata e l'analisi del carbonio-14 ha fornito una datazione che indica che l'estrazione è iniziata dall'epoca celtica (ca. 360 a.C.) fino alla tarda età romano-gallica (ca. 400 d.C.).
