Nel 1841 alcune sorelle ursuline arrivarono a Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver per fondare una scuola per ragazze del popolo. Ben presto iniziarono anche un pensionato a pagamento che acquistò un respiro internazionale. L'architettura e l'arredamento degli edifici e del parco testimoniano questo splendido passato. Anche oggi 1700 studenti frequentano la scuola.
La serra in stile art nouveau del 1900 fungeva da elegante sala d'attesa per i visitatori delle centinaia di ragazze residenti. Rimani stupito dal gioco fatato di luce e colore della cupola e dall'interno originale.
