Gli agostiniani si stabilirono a Herentals nel 1613 su richiesta del magistrato della città. Durante la battaglia di Herentals nel 1798, i francesi appiccarono il fuoco alle torri, causando la distruzione quasi totale dell'intero complesso per le fiamme. L'infermeria storica è stata ristrutturata nel 1990-1993 e accoglie ora gli archivi della città.
