Questa estensione della foresta di Soignes vanta un ricco passato ciclistico. L'allestimento di avenue Louise nella seconda metà del 19o secolo rese il bois de la Cambre facilmente accessibile. Molto presto, divenne un luogo preferito da facoltosi brussellesi per passeggiare e andare in bicicletta.
Nel 1893, il Velodromo Longchamps dell'architetto brussellese Victor Taelemans aprì le sue porte nelle vicinanze. Quest'ultimo costituì per 30 anni l'arrivo della competizione di ciclismo Parigi - Bruxelles. Nel 1897 anche il Velodromo del Bois de la Cambre aprì i battenti e divenne rapidamente un luogo di incontro importante per i ciclisti brussellesi. Oggi qui si tiene ogni anno le 24 Ore bici del bois de la Cambre, un evento ciclistico che riunisce migliaia di scout. Questo luogo è anche il punto di partenza e di arrivo della competizione per amatori BXL Tour.
