Il bosco di Faya si estende su una chiglia del Condroz tra Gesves e Sorinne-la-Longue, a circa quindici chilometri a sud-est di Namur. Gran parte del sito è occupata da un'antica foresta subnaturale. Tuttavia, è stata disturbata negli anni '70 da diverse attività estrattive, in particolare lungo il bordo sud dove sono ancora visibili diverse cavità parzialmente allagate. Qui sono stati estratti blocchi e basoli di arenaria e successivamente sono stati stoccati vari rifiuti. Il sito, e in particolare la cava principale, ospita diversi elementi biologici interessanti, tra cui una rara felce acidofila, la felce quercia (Gymnocarpium dryopteris) e due anfibi, il rospo dal collare (Alytes obstetricans) e la salamandra maculata (Salamandra salamandra). Il tutto fa parte del sito Natura 2000 del Bacino di Samson.
