La smakerij è composta da un negozio di specialità e un caffè a misura di ciclista con terrazza riscaldata, situato nel vecchio ufficio doganale al valico di frontiera di Kessenich. Nel negozio vengono venditi prosciutti artigianali provenienti da diverse regioni d'Europa, specialità di formaggio, pani tedeschi, vini e prodotti tipici. Tutti questi prodotti sono anche utilizzati nei piatti offerti dal caffè. I ciclisti possono gustare un delizioso caffè con un dolce preparato in casa per € 3,50. Inoltre, l'edificio funge da punto informativo turistico per il "Parco Fluviale Maasvallei". La Smakerij organizza anche degustazioni per gruppi con i temi: prosciutti - birre speciali - formaggi - sherry. Situato proprio lungo il percorso ciclabile e pedonale.
