Una groebe è una specifica forma di valle. È un canale di erosione con pareti ripide come puoi trovarne alcuni qui nel Neigembos. Si sono formati dopo l'ultima era glaciale, circa 12.000 anni fa. L'acqua di fusione ha rapidamente eroso i pendii e sono state formate pareti ripide e fossi profondi. Per questo motivo, una groebe è anche chiamata valle di fusione. Il motivo per cui questa forma specifica è ancora così ben visibile è grazie alla riforestazione. I canali di erosione in altri luoghi sono stati allargati o meno esplicitamente a causa dell'erosione del suolo che ha potuto allargare un po' più velocemente le pareti della valle verso le valli ad arco.
