Mwami Mutaradreef / Burundidreef / Rwandadreef
I nomi delle strade in quest'area ricordano il periodo coloniale del nostro paese. L'anno 1955 è registrato negli annali di Keerbergen come l'anno del Mwami. Insieme a sua moglie, il Mwami Charles Mutara III Rudahigwa, uno dei capi tribù più notevoli del Rwanda, visitò Keerbergen grazie all'allora sindaco Peere. Il 9 ottobre 1955, gli fu conferito dal consiglio comunale il diploma di "cittadino onorario di Keerbergen" durante una cerimonia solenne. Nella zona dove acquistò alcuni lotti di terreno, le strade adiacenti furono intitolate con nomi appropriati: Rwandadreef, Burundidreef e Mwami Mutaradreef.
Solo 4 anni dopo il suo soggiorno a Keerbergen, il Mwami morì in circostanze sospette in Rwanda. Sua moglie, Rosalie Gicande, fu assassinata molti anni dopo, all'età di 80 anni, durante il Genocidio Rwandese (20 aprile 1994).
Dopo la morte del Mwami, i suoi discendenti donarono i terreni di Keerbergen al Comune di Keerbergen. Oggi, l'ex dominio è conosciuto come l'area naturale "Kruisheide", e intorno ad esso, le "Mwami Mutaradreef", "Ruandadreef" e "Burundidreef" sono gli ultimi testimoni di questo pezzo di storia "dimenticata".
