Strooiendorp è un quartiere di Leopoldsburg che si trova a nord del centro. Il nome del quartiere si riferisce alle abitazioni misere che si avevano negli anni iniziali del vicino Campo di Beverlo, intorno al 1840.
Nel 1857 qui furono venduti 296 ettari di lotti e nel 1870 fu redatto un nuovo piano di lottizzazione, secondo il quale 496 ettari di terreno sabbioso furono lottizzati secondo un modello a scacchiera e venduti. Successivamente, la lottizzazione fu parzialmente modificata e furono create strade trasversali. Tuttavia, fino al 1914 l'area era chiamata Kerkhoven, proprio come il villaggio ecclesiastico di Lommel situato più a nord.
