All'interno della Chiesa cattolica, i Santi Ausiliatori si riferiscono a un gruppo di quattordici santi che sono venerati e invocati in gruppo e individualmente. Sono anche conosciuti come i quattordici santi aiutanti. Sono chiamati aiutanti perché si dice che aiutino soprattutto con tutti i tipi di malattie e disturbi.
Saint-Gilles o Egidius era un eremita e abate ed è invocato contro le pestilenze.
