Questo bosco privato si chiama Reutelbos. Si trova in una valle ed è particolare perché è rimasto intatto dopo la guerra. Resti di bunker e crateri sono ancora presenti qui. Oggi è gestito come riserva naturale.
Durante l'inverno del 1914-‘15, francesi e tedeschi si trovano qui a meno di 40 metri l'uno di fronte all'altro. Dopo l'occupazione tedesca, viene costruita la linea Flandern I lungo l'attuale bordo sud-ovest del bosco. Questa viene occupata il 4 ottobre 1917 dalla 21ª divisione britannica. Un bunker conquistato viene allestito come quartier generale della compagnia. Dopo alcuni scontri, il borgo di 'Reutel' viene occupato. Non si va oltre quel incrocio. Il settore viene difeso durante l'inverno dalle truppe neozelandesi.
