Subito dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, dal 1944 al 1946, circa 100.000 prigionieri di guerra rimasero nel Vloethemveld. Per passare il tempo, realizzavano opere d'arte con materiale da demolizione.
Sono state conservate tre opere d'arte : San Giorgio e il drago, Marianne e la targa del campo di prigionia . Sono stati riuniti sotto un'unica tettoia nell'edificio della reception di Kamphuis, in modo che possano essere visti bene e siano protetti dal gelo, dalla pioggia e da altre condizioni atmosferiche.
La targa del campo di prigionia (POW = Prisonners of War) è una lastra di cemento recante, in piccoli mosaici di mattoni, la scritta "2226 POW CAMP". La targa si trovava all'ingresso del POW CAMP 2226, il cui ingresso si trovava all'incirca di fronte al deposito di munizioni.
