Un edificio agricolo originariamente sorgeva sul sito del castello di Gesves.
Nel XIV secolo , il signore di Gesves, Evrard de Bolland, in adempimento dei suoi obblighi militari, costruì una torre difensiva nelle vicinanze (mastio medievale dell'avouerie dipendente da Poilvache). La vedova e il figlio costruirono una casetta fortificata, una fortezza circondata dall'acqua, dotata di ponte levatoio e con mura perimetrali spesse due metri . La torre si trova ancora accanto al castello.
La cupa rocca divenne una piacevole dimora cinquecentesca a forma di L addossata al mastio, con al centro una torretta quadrata. Il conte Léon de Limninghe diede al castello l'aspetto attuale nel 1870 ; il castello fu raddoppiato in profondità e la vecchia facciata fu ridecorata in stile neogotico con l' aggiunta di due torrette.
Del podere restavano solo un'ala adibita a stalle e fienili e le due torri angolari sul torrente .
