L'Hoyoux è un affluente della Mosa, che nasce a Verlée nella regione del Condroz, provincia di Namur, a 290 metri di altitudine . Da Modave il fiume scorre attraverso una profonda valle a nord verso Huy (francese: Huy) dove sfocia nella Mosa ad un'altitudine di 75 metri.
In questo tratto ha la portata più veloce di tutti i fiumi belgi. La portata media misurata a Marchin tra il 1989 e il 2003 è di 2,0 m³ al secondo. Presso il castello di Modave è presente un impianto dove si estrae l'acqua destinata all'agglomerato di Bruxelles. Vengono estratti fino a 80.000 m³ al giorno ( circa 1 m³ al secondo ), sufficienti a rifornire circa 200.000 abitanti.
L'Hoyoux, con il maggior declino in Belgio, è noto per i suoi travertini , un fenomeno raro in Europa.
La valle di Hoyoux è una zona pedonale e ciclabile molto interessante , in parte grazie alla presenza del Ravel Lign126.
