C'era un tempo in cui il Belgio cercava lavoratori in tutto il mondo per l'estrazione del carbone e l'industria pesante. Per questo motivo, la direzione delle fabbriche Boël costruì nel 1946 un campo di baracche per i lavoratori ospiti italiani. Oggi c'è un Centro di Interpretazione per l'Immigrazione, un museo dove si possono visitare alcune di queste baracche gratuitamente. C'è un caffè-ristorante con una grande terrazza.
