GR 5 Mare del Nord - Mare Mediterraneo | Fiandre

IT - La GR 5 è l'icona nella rete di sentieri segnalati in bianco-rossi che si estende per Paesi Bassi, Belgio, Lussemburgo, Francia fino alla Spagna e al Portogallo. La GR 5 collega il Mare del Nord al Mare Mediterraneo ed è lunga oltre 2.000 km.  

In Fiandra, percorrere la GR 5 non è difficile. La maggior parte del percorso è su sentieri pianeggianti e strade campestri, ma offre comunque molta varietà: boschi e brughiere nelle Kempen (Antwerpen), i grandi abbazie di Westmalle, Tongerlo, Averbode e Herkenrode; stagni e paludi nei Demerbroeken e nei Wijers e boschi nelle Hoge Kempen (Limburgo). La sezione fiamminga termina nella valle della Mosa, poco oltre Maastricht, dove ti trovi ai piedi delle Ardenne, presso l'antico forte di Eben-Emael. Clicca qui per la guida topografica.

EN - The GR 5 serves as an icon for the GR network, which covers the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain and Portugal. The trail connects the North Sea to the Mediterranean Sea and is over 2,000 km long.

Hiking the GR 5 through Flanders is not technically difficult: flat paths and country roads make up most of the trail. The GR 5 does provide a lot of variety in scenery, however: forests and heathland in the Kempen (Antwerp), the great abbeys of Westmalle, Tongerlo, Averbode and Herkenrode, ponds and marshes in the Demerbroeken and the Wijers, and forests in the Hoge Kempen (Limburg). The Flemish section ends in the Maas valley, just past Maastricht, where you find yourself at the foot of the Ardennes by the historic fortress of Eben-Emael.
