Il Colle del Gran San Bernardo si trova a un'altitudine di 2469 metri. È il terzo passo stradale più alto della Svizzera. Il passo collega Martigny nel cantone del Vallese con Aosta in Italia. Si trova tra le due vette più alte delle Alpi, il Monte Bianco e il Monte Rosa. Il passo stesso si trova in Svizzera, vicino all'Italia. Si trova sulla principale dorsale idrica che separa il bacino del Rodano da quello del Po.
