Lo Schwarzwasser è un affluente di destra del Sense, lungo 21,1 km, nel Canton Berna, in Svizzera. Drena una sezione della regione collinare prealpina a nord della catena del Gantrisch e appartiene al bacino idrografico del Reno.
Le sorgenti dello Schwarzwasser si trovano a circa 1500 m sul livello del mare sul suolo comunale di Rüschegg a nord della zona di Gantrisch, in un bacino sul versante settentrionale del Süftenegg tra le cime di Pfyffe a ovest e Schüpfenflue a est. Nei primi 5 km, lo Schwarzwasser supera un dislivello di oltre 700 m come un torrente; il Kerbtal è solitamente affondato in profondità nel pendio. Ai piedi del pendio nella zona di Heubach e Eigrund, il fondovalle è pieno di materiale erosivo. Qui lo Schwarzwasser si unisce al Wissenbach, al Biberze e al Gambach, tutti corsi d'acqua che drenano la zona del Gurnigel.
