Il Canton Vallese è uno dei ventisei cantoni svizzeri, situato nella parte sud-occidentale della nazione, nelle Alpi Pennine, attorno alla valle del fiume Rodano, dalla sua sorgente fino al Lago Lemano. Appartiene alla Confederazione Elvetica dal 1815; la sua capitale è Sion, che è anche la città più popolosa del Vallese.
Il Canton Vallese si trova nella parte Sudoccidentale della Svizzera. A sud e est confina con l'Italia , a sud-ovest con la Francia . A nord il cantone confina con il Canton Vaud ed il Canton Berna; il Canton Uri e il Canton Ticino si trovano a est.
