Magnificamente restaurato da Sir Norman Foster e ospitando la sede del Parlamento tedesco, il Reichstag è senza dubbio una delle principali attrazioni di Berlino, e a ragione. Costruito per ospitare il parlamento del Kaiser, il Reichstag fu devastato da un incendio (probabilmente appiccato dai nazisti), ridotto in macerie dall'artiglieria dell'Armata Rossa e quasi dimenticato durante la lunga divisione di Berlino. Sir Foster ha svuotato l'edificio – a parte alcuni vecchi profili e graffiti di soldati sovietici – ha costruito una moderna aula plenario e ha posto una scintillante cupola di vetro sul tetto. Una passeggiata attorno al tetto offre una vista fantastica su Berlino. Salite la scala a chiocciola all'interno della cupola e potrete osservare il Parlamento dall'alto. All'interno della cupola si trova un cono cilindrico progettato per aspirare l'aria calda generata sotto. Se solo tutti i parlamenti avessero un dispositivo del genere.
