Möhnesee è un lago artificiale nel Land tedesco della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia, creato dalla costruzione di una diga nel periodo 1908-13 nel Möhne. Il lago artificiale si trova nel comune di Möhnesee nel distretto di Soest.
La principale ragione per la costruzione era l'approvvigionamento idrico. Ma anche il fabbisogno energetico dell'industria emergente nella regione della Ruhr giocava un grande ruolo. Sono state installate due turbine Kaplan per la generazione di elettricità. Nel 2018 sono ancora in funzione due turbine con una potenza totale di 7 megawatt. La produzione annuale di elettricità si attesta intorno ai 13 milioni di kilowattora.
