Bad Sachsa è una piccola città in Bassa Sassonia, al margine meridionale dei Monti Harz, nella contea di Göttingen, a circa 50 km a est di Göttingen. Il luogo è una località termale con un clima curativo riconosciuta dallo stato.
Il paese è attraversato dall'Uffe; vicino al centro del paese si trova il lago artificiale per la fusione. La cima più alta nei dintorni è il Ravensberg con 659 m sopra il livello del mare, a circa 5,5 km a nord-ovest del centro città.
