Schluchsee è una località termale con clima curativo nel Parco Naturale della Foresta Nera meridionale, nel sud-ovest del Baden-Württemberg, sul lago omonimo, il più grande lago della Foresta Nera.
Il territorio comunale si estende a un'altitudine compresa tra i 700 e i 1300 metri sul livello del mare. Il punto più alto è rappresentato dalla Schnepfhalde a nord-ovest, con 1299 metri sul livello del mare. Il punto più basso si trova all'imbocco del Taubach nella Schwarza.
