Il quartiere Marienburg si trova a sud della città di Colonia. Politicamente fa parte del distretto di Rodenkirchen. Marienburg è considerato uno dei quartieri di Colonia preferiti e con prezzi elevati sul mercato immobiliare.
Marienburg confina a est con il Reno, a sud con l'autostrada federale 4 a Rodenkirchen, a ovest con il quartiere Raderthal e a nord con Raderberg e Bayenthal. A destra del Reno si trova Poll, di fronte.
