Salzgitter-Ringelheim è il sesto più grande dei 31 quartieri della città autonoma di Salzgitter, in Bassa Sassonia. Ringelheim si trova nell'estremità sud-occidentale del territorio comunale, lungo l'Innerste, ed è parte della località di Süd. Fino al 31 marzo 1942, Ringelheim apparteneva al distretto di Goslar ed è diventato parte della grande città di Watenstedt-Salzgitter attraverso un atto amministrativo il 1 aprile 1942. Il 23 gennaio 1951, questa fu ufficialmente rinominata in Salzgitter.
Ringelheim è nato in epoca pre-francone all'incrocio di due strade militari e commerciali. Aveva la giurisdizione nel Salzgau dell'attuale Sud di Salzgitter. Intorno al 940, il conte Immat della stirpe degli Immedinger fondò un monastero di fanciulle reali. Nella bolla di protezione del re Ottone I del 941 vengono menzionati i terreni del monastero. Successivamente, il conte Immad trasferì al monastero i suoi possedimenti nei dintorni di Ringelheim a Wendhausen, Othfresen, Jerstedt, Wallmoden, Nauen, Sehlde, Gustedt, Haverlah e Vöppstedt.
