Nota anche come Überwasserkirche. Il nome ricorda la sua precedente posizione al di fuori delle mura della città, dall'altro lato dell'Aa (über dem Wasser = sopra l'acqua).
Costruita intorno al 1340, questa chiesa con navata alta presenta un'imponente torre campanaria gotica, dalla quale manca il tetto a cupola da un uragano nel 1704.
I meravigliosi scolpiti del portale d'ingresso, che furono distrutti dagli anabattisti, furono ritrovati nella Kreuzschanze e sono attualmente esposti nel Museo statale della Westfalia.
