L'uomo di Osterby si riferisce al cranio di un cadavere di palude trovato nel Köhlmoor, a sud-est di Osterby presso Eckernförde.
Durante l'estrazione di torba, il cranio è stato scoperto il 26 maggio 1948 dai fratelli Otto e Max Müller di Osterby nella parcella di loro padre. Si trovava a una profondità di circa 65-70 cm sotto l'allora superficie della palude. Max Müller notò i resti di pelle che pendevano dalla sua paletta. Così entrambi setacciarono la torba estratta e recuperarono i pezzi del cranio e del mantello. L'agricoltore di Damendorf Detlef Thomes segnalò il ritrovamento al museo di Schleswig.
